we've been working on the web since 1994. that's right 15 years. that's like...forever...in doggie digital years.
our first success was launching WorldCam.™ The Planet's Moving Picture Show.
pre-dating YouTube by over a decade, WorldCam was the world's original video suppository...er, repository. launched on July 4th weekend, 1995, WorldCam generated 172,000 unique visitors from over 80 countries -- in one weekend, when it was a 28k and 56k dialup internet inhabited by the earliest of adopters. when it took anywhere from 5 minutes to almost an hour to download the site's films and videos.
that blockbuster traffic was generated with guerilla email, word of mouth and a meager $1000 worth of small space ads in 10 college papers. it was also the first website to cross-platform back to a traditional platform: television.
here's the opening from WorldCam.™ The Planet's Moving Picture Show. Hosted by Bill Leff, veteran stand-up comedian, radio personality and actor, best known for his roles in the Major League film franchise.
